4 out of 5 stars Nice player   July 4, 2009
Michael L. Kazar (Pittsburgh, PA)
I bought this as a present for my daughter, who had a VS55 before, but got a new iPod (Classic) that doesn't work with the VS55 (thanks, Apple :-( ).

So far, it's been a bit better than I expected. It is built a little more solidly than I expected from the photos. It does indeed work with both iPod Classics and Touches.

Want the best
Purchased as a gift and is used often. Has great extras such as the ability to play Apple Ipods through the system. highly recommend this portable dvd player to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Just right for my needs   July 3, 2009
BeoMac (Phoenix, AZ USA)
This player was exactly what I was looking for: needed a "monitor" for our elliptical trainer for my wife and I to watch TV shows while working out. The ability to use a video iPod or iTouch makes this work perfectly for us. Her shows. My shows. Plenty of content to go around. Player fits great on the elliptical. Much more prudent than balancing one of our $2K MacBook Pros on the elliptical. Also works (somewhat) with iPhone-- although the iPhone is too tall to slide back into the unit, so the tray sticks out of the side as you see in the images. Overall, couldn't be happier.

Life's too short for the region-coding BS. This unit is easy to make region-free. Kudos, and 5 stars, to Philips.

i was looking for a portable dvd player with multiple uses; this one does almost everything i would have wanted. It came with cables for connecting to other display devices, and charging in house and car. I was surprised that it had so many possibilities. really cool toy.
